I just watched the movie, and i played the game, and although little more than 50% is in common, far cry movie isn't that bad. it isn't a summer blockbuster, nor instant classic, but, it was never meant to be.. Production edit. the game-to-film enthusiast uwe boll, gained the rights to a far cry movie, which was reported to have happened before the game was even released to the public.in an october 2006 interview, uwe boll said that production on far cry would begin in may 2007. the film was released on october 2nd, 2008, in germany..
